New Golf Course Design
We spend considerable time walking and studying a site in order to "discover" the best possible routing.
At Michael J. Benkusky, Inc. we design golf courses in the field and then return to our office to refine initial concepts. The best golf courses compliment the site and are not an anomaly in the broader landscape. Our courses are not "manufactured" in order to follow a certain routing or par. We understand that successful projects are those that respond to a broader player profile, balance aesthetics and maintainability, and respect the natural contours of the site. It has been shown time and again that golfers will play repeatedly on golf courses that are strategically challenging, enjoyable to play, and are well maintained. Our efforts focus on building golf courses that are affordable, fun to play, and profitable.
Existing Golf Course Master Planning
The business of golf is extremely competitive. Implementation of a well conceived course improvement plan, supported by a strong financial plan, is the most effective way to attract new golfers and retain existing patrons. At Michael J. Benkusky, Inc. we look ahead and set the pace rather then follow the leader. By studying the golf course's history and looking at its current membership and players, we develop a fiscally responsible and realistic plan to maintain a competitive edge. Whether it is to add yardage, improve strategy, or give a new look to the golf course, we are committed to enhancing your course in order to increase play, reduce maintenance costs, and add to the golf experience.
Just as in new golf course design, when we begin a golf course Master Plan project we believe it is more important to spend time on-site rather then spend all your time behind a desk. We walk the golf course and study the golf holes in order to get the feel for the property. We look at how a hole is played by all golfers, not just by a select few. By developing strategies, alternate lines of play, and a variety of yardages, we achieve our Master Plan goals and create a finished project that your club, group, or municipality can be proud to call their home course.
